Description: Join ICES on a contract impacting national security as a Sr. Systems Engineer.
A Sr. Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's IT systems. They ensure system stability, performance, and security by managing and configuring servers, storage, and network components. The Sr. Systems Engineer troubleshoots complex system issues, optimizes system performance, and supports IT projects.
These positions are located in Alexandria, VA. All positions require an active/current TS/SCI securityclearance and be willing and able to pass an additional polygraph as needed.
As a Sr. Systems Engineer, specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Duties:
Familiarity with Microsoft Domain Administration, Active Directory, domain controllers, Domain Names Services (DNS).
Familiarity with basic network technologies and capable of troubleshooting minor network connectivity issues such as network interface card (NIC), cabling, TCP/IP configuration issues; basic messaging system administration (e-mail).
PC and server hardware familiarity including the ability to troubleshoot and resolve system issues using configuration analysis and subsystem (hard drive, memory, monitors, and power supplies) repair/replacement procedures.
Respond to trouble tickets from the Service Desk automated trouble ticketing system; perform hardware and software System, including patches, upgrades, service packs, and hotfixes to ensure system availability, reliability, and serviceability.
Ability to perform Backup and Recovery Functions.
Required:
Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert
Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate Certification
Expertise in designing and implementing complex IT systems.
Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve system issues.
Knowledge of system security principles and practices.
Proficiency in operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux, Unix).
Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
Knowledge of storage solutions and SAN/NAS configurations.
Skills in scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
Ability to create and maintain detailed system documentation.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration and reporting.
Ability to manage system-related projects and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
Desired:
5+ years of experience working with the Microsoft computing environment.
